Fish Taverna Akrogiali at Korfalonas beach
Driving from Kolymbari to Kissamos on the New National Road hunger overcame us and lucky us found this fish taverna with spectacular sea and mountain views. Since it was mid-September and a little after lunch time Akrogiali was not busy, except for a group of locals with three robed priests in tow. I wish we could have taken pictures of the food the group ordered since 10+ people surely order a greater variety than the two persons do.
We loved the setting and vibe – casual and tranquil with only the sound of the waves and the occasional greek chatter from the other group dining.
We ordered way too much food this time: Fried zucchini, fried kalamari, fried small fish, shrimp saganaki and a helping if tzatziki. Add some nice bread (which was served first) and desert on the house – phew! Unfortunately we could not wait to eat and completely forgot to take decent pictures of the food we ordered – sorry about that! The food, I especially liked the shrimp saganaki. Next time I shall try the octopus that was drying in the sun.
