Mojo Burgers in Rethymno
Yearning for something different while in Rethymno, Crete? While we can feast on superb Cretan food every day, sometimes a little change for the tastebuds is nice and so decided to check out Mojo Burgers during one of our stays in Rethymno.
Mojo Burgers is located very close to the Venetian Harbour in a small side street. Don’t expect to be able to go there by car, enjoy a walk through old town, grab a drink at one of the bars and then head to grab a bite of American grub – be it a burger, sandwich or a hot dog.

A funky, lovely joint with graffiti on the walls and simple seating which creates a great vibe which is in stark contrast to old-town Rethymno or the general image you have of an eatery in Greece. The love letters to this joint, handwritten by guests plus the wall decorations give Mojo Burgers a gritty and cool vibe which makes you want to flop back into your seat and enjoy another can of Heineken.
The menu is fairly small, but packs a punch: five sandwiches, five hot dogs and seven burgers plus sides are at your disposal. You can order burgers in two sizes and some soft drinks and beers to go with it. Don’t bother asking for a litre of local wine – if you have that urge, you are in the wrong place. You can also add extra toppings to your order to fully match your tastebuds with the offerings on the menu.
On our visit we opted for a burger bonanza and ordered the Sinatra, Elvis and Hendrix plus a side of onion rings. Pretty damn good stuff and you will be hard pressed to find better burgers on Crete. By the way, this opinion comes supported by our visitor from the US on this trip!
Great atmosphere, great food! if you are looking for a quick, inexpensive bite to eat in Rethymno you can not go wrong with this one. We look forward to checking out their hot dogs and sandwiches on our next visits – we’ll be back for more!
