Taverna Halaris – Meskla, Crete

Lamb boiled in olive oil with french fries (or a greek variation thereof), Generous portions of two kinds of cheese (we took home more than half of it) and vegetables – eggplant, cucumber, corn on the cob and potatoes – in a delicious sauce. To was everything down we had some homemade red wine, nice! Oh, did I mention that the taverna has no menu? Yep, whatever is fresh and available on that day is what you can get.
